Åmåls Blues Fest

This blues festival, well-regarded in Scandinavia and disproportionately popular considering its out-of-the-way location, showcases the best in blues talent from around the world. Though the acts are heavily drawn from musicians from Sweden and (naturally) the US, many other countries are represented here as well. Apart from the music, which recreates the atmosphere of the Mississippi delta on Lake Vänern, there are numerous vendors and merchants that descend on the town for the festival including those selling traditional Swedish goods and dishes and some soul food and barbecue purveyors whose wares are guaranteed to sweep away the gray fog of Scandinavia and replace it with the flavors of Memphis and Macon.
