Stille Omgang (Silent Procession) makes its way through the streets of Amsterdam every March. This procession commemorates the "Miracle of the Host" of 1345, a strange occurrence that involved a dying man vomiting once given the Holy Sacrament and last rites. Though cast into a fire, the host emerged unscathed, thus the celebration of the miracle. The procession follows the Heiligeweg (Holy Way).
