Once the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, Mike Tyson is a retired professional boxer from New York City. After getting his start as a professional boxer at age 19 in 1985, his initial winning streaks caused media sources to bill him as the next great heavyweight champion, especially as he started to face opponents much more experienced that he was. He became the youngest heavyweight champion in history after beating Trevor Berbick at the World Boxing Council heavyweight championship, the first of a series of three championships Tyson would win that same year. In an event often considered the pinnacle of his boxing ability, Tyson knocked out former heavyweight champion Michael Spinks after only 91 seconds in the ring. Though different controversies have colored his career, Tyson remains one of the greatest heavyweights of all time.
