Formed by members of the long defunct bands Cheap Thrills and The Pelts, Mickey is a five-piece from Chicago formed in 2008. A modern take on glam rock, the garage band melds David Bowie-influenced vocals with sunny, surf-tinged guitars and the occasional power pop chord progression. While Mickey's live shows might lack the clean, angular aesthetic of its recorded music, the band seems to prefer to act the role of quintessential garage band on stage, entertaining the audience with over-the-top dramatics and scuzzed-down instrumentals.
