RUN DMT is a collaboration between Chris Parson (aka Parson) and John D. Robbins (aka Lemiwinks), two electronic producers based out of the Austin, Texas area. The duo's influences run the gamut of pop music of the last 50 or so years, including new wave, folk, reggae, punk, trip-hop, rap and psych rock. As a result, RUN DMT's music is a glaringly attention deficit disorder-ridden meshing of styles that manages to become more than just the sum of its bizarre parts. Shoegaze-heavy pop and pastoral folk songs framed in a tinny, lo-fi garage context are commonplace in the duo's music, as is a somewhat juvenile sense of humor full of celebrity puns and drug references. Parson and Robbins are also frequently sought-after remix artists in the Austin scene known for their strange, druggy reworkings of tracks.
