Last Days Of April

While the Stockholm-based band Last Days of April has shifted its musical style tremendously--moving from hardcore to avant-garde rock to indie pop with a subtle folksy twang--it is this last genre that has won the band the most acclaim. Since forming in 1997, the project of singer/songwriter Karl Larsson and his rotating cast of musicians has garnered a respectable amount of attention on the underground scene and has won them opening spots for Tegan & Sara and Guided By Voices. While Last Days of April hasn't attracted mass appeal, the band attributes this to its refusal to follow popular trends and is perfectly happy remaining slightly off the radar.
