St Helens R.F.C. is an English rugby club that represents St Helens, Merseyside in the Super League - the top division of rugby in Great Britain. Established in 1873 as St Helens Football Club, it is one of the oldest clubs of the Rugby Football League and played its first game ever in 1874 against Liverpool Royal Infirmary. The 1960s heralded a golden era for St Helens FC, during which it won a number of titles. Over the course of its history, the highly successful club has won a number of honors including major titles such as the Super League, Challenge Cup and the World Club Challenge. The club plays its home games at the Totally Wicked Stadium in St. Helens.
