The English folk musician Ralph McTell is probably best-known for his 1969 song "Streets of London" which has been covered by numerous artists around the world. Since the release of his well-received 1996 album, From Clare to Here, he has maintained a fairly prolific recording career with a songwriting and guitar style that has been influenced by many of the Piedmont blues style guitar players of the early 20th century, including Blind Blake and Blind Willie McTell--the former, a musician from whom he took his name.
