Alan Broadbent is a jazz pianist from New Zealand who might best be known for his collaborations with icons of the jazz world including Chet Baker, Natalie Cole and Bud Shank. After attending the prestigious Berklee College of Music in 1966, Broadbent would serve as a sideman with a rotating cast of jazz musicians until he struck out on his own as bandleader with his debut 1979 album, Palette. Since then he has kept active, releasing additional LPs, touring and continuing to collaborate with luminaries of the modern jazz scene.
