Drew Carey is an actor, singer, comedian and television personality from Cleveland who rose to fame as a stand-up comedian in the early 1990s. After making a name for himself as a comedian, he achieved widespread success in 1995 with the his sitcom The Drew Carey Show, and his television career expanded with the US version of Whose Line Is It Anyway?, which he hosted for the duration of the show from 1998 to 2006. Since his explosive start on television, he has steadily appeared on several series, including his work as the host of the hit CBS game show The Price Is Right, and has worked as a writer on several television shows and movies, including the 2001 made-for-TV movie, House of Cards. In addition to working in the entertainment industry, Carey is a minority owner of the Seattle Sounders Major League Soccer team and has worked as a photographer for the US National Team soccer games.
