Jeff Lorber is a jazz keyboardist and composer from Philadelphia, who is perhaps best known for his contributions to the smooth jazz genre, particularly for his works that are frequently featured on The Weather Channel. Although it might seem strange that people would turn to The Weather Channel for their music, Lorber has appeared on several of the channel's amazingly successful albums, such as The Weather Channel Presents: The Best of Smooth Jazz. Despite the state of popular musical taste, smooth jazz is still a genre that many still love listening to, and Jeff Lorber is one of the few remaining artists in the genre pushing it forward into the 21st Century.
