Trisha Yearwood is a country singer from Monticello, Georgia who initially rose to fame in 1991 when her debut single, "She's in Love with the Boy," became a crossover hit. Growing up in the South, Yearwood cultivated her musical taste listening to country music greats like Patsy Cline, Kitty Wells and Hank Williams. Building a life for herself around music and writing ballads driven by vulnerable lyrics, Yearwood was eventually be noticed by MTM Records. After singing backing vocals for a number of prominent MTM artists, Yearwood eventually managed to land a solo recording contract, which led to her charting single, "She's in Love with the Boy," and her well received, self-titled 1991 debut album.
