Roger Willemsen was a television personality and author from Bonn, Germany. After studying philosophy and history in school, he penned books like 2007's An Afghan Journey and 2015's The Ends of the Earth, as he also transitioned into entertainment through his many public appearances. Willemsen died at the age of 60 of cancer in 2016.
