Chicha Libre

Psychedelic and surf pop band Chicha Libre is a collective of Venezuelan, Mexican, American and French musicians from Brooklyn. The six-piece band uses Latin rhythms in its mixture of original and Peruvian-inspired sounds to stunning effect. With lyrics in French, English and Spanish, Chicha Libre creates a Westernized brand of psychedelia with an impressive repertoire of instruments that includes accordions, organs, and Moog synthesizers, in addition to incorporating playful guitar riffs for a psychedelic surf experience. Chicha Libre released its album Sonido Amazonico in 2008 and followed the hit debut with 2012's Canibalismo.
