Mischief Brew is a punk band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that plays a characteristically DIY style of sludgy punk material that oftentimes blends a varied amount of genres including country, folk and Gypsy into a singular, cohesive style. Taking inspiration from the 1960s protest scene as well as anti-authority artists like Woody Guthrie, Mischief Brew's song lyrics often pay respect to the struggles the American working class has gone through in the past 50 years. Since releasing its first LP, Bellingham & Philadelphia, in 2003, Mischief Brew has established itself as one of the premier anarcho-punk acts of generation.
