Creating what it calls "galactic funk," Space Dimension Controller is an electronic project comprised of two producers who go by the names Mr. 8040 and Max Tiraquon. The duo has crafted a richly detailed, futuristic sci-fi origin story set in the year 2334 that involves alien infestations, human extinction and the two of them blasting their trippy funk music out of a shuttle in desolate deep space. Space Dimesion Controller's songs are built around smooth, slinky keyboard work, cheesy 1980s synth tones, live drum samples and a touch of house and electro elements. And though its music is certainly rhythm-centric at times, the group seems to be more comfortable crafting sleek chill out tunes than it is cranking out dance floor-friendly singles.
