Red Mass is a garage rock/punk collective from Montreal, Canada that, by all accounts, defies any sort of consistent categorization. Developed by musician Roy Vucino (aka Choyce), Red Mass became a means for artists to come together through social networking to create and perform music that suited their individual tastes. What has resulted is a band line-up that constantly fluctuates as more and more artists are attracted to the collective and begin contributing their own distinct art to the act. Although the group might be a little too unwieldy to ever become anything more than an independent act, one never gets the impression that "going big" will ever be its members' intention, and based on Red Mass' extensive touring schedule throughout the world, being independent surely hasn't taken away from the collective's success.
