First coming to the public's attention on the Canadian reality show Rock Camp, which followed a group of young musicians striving to make it in the industry, Doug Hoyer has been able to continue his career after the show ran its course in 2004. Since then he has released solo singer/songwriter work--primarily centered around his ukulele--as well as started a side project supergroup called Bike Month. With folksy ballads that focus on lyrics of personal storytelling that most people can relate to, on the awkwardness of young love and the trials of being strapped for cash, Hoyer has won over audiences throughout his native Alberta and around Canada.
