Lynn Jackson, a folk pop singer/songwriter from Canada, operates under the classic tenets of folk music that define it as ultimately a storytelling art-form. Her sensitive, thoughtful observations of the human condition chronicle the joys and strife of hardworking every-men, town drunks and young lovers with vivid detail. In the live setting, Jackson usually performs with a sparse setup that relies mainly on her smooth vocals and an acoustic guitar. Her studio material, however, shows her depth as not only a skilled songwriter, but an arranger, as songs are spruced up with piano, mandolin and strings.
