Frou Frou was an electronic band from the London made up of Imogen Heap and Guy Sigsworth. Heap, already familiar with Sigsworth's production, lryical and keyboard contributions for Seal and Björk, was introduced to Sigsworth in the 1990s and she began singing back up for his band Acacia. In turn, Sigsworth helped write lyrics for Heap's 1998 debut album i Megaphone. In 2001, Sigsworth began writing for a music project named Frou Frou, for which he originally planned to write and produce tracks for various lyricists. He contacted Heap and together they recorded "Flicks." Impressed with her layered vocal performance, Sigsworth called Heaps a week later and they recorded what would be Frou Frou's debut single, "Breathe In," and by the end of the year of equally writing and instrumentation, the pair established themselves as Frou Frou. The duo's debut and final album Details, was released in 2002 and exhibited electronic music with undertones of pop, rock and hip hop. Frou Frou incorporated several acoustic instruments into its cascade of electronic sounds, including guitars, cellos and Indian drums. After receiving widespread critical acclaim, the band embarked on a US tour and developed a cult-like fan base in the process. Despite the success and positive reaction, the duo separated in 2003 but its music continues to be relevant in pop culture. Zack Braff chose the Frou Frou song "Let Go" for a pivotal moment in Garden State, an independent film that also developed an intimate cult following. There has been buzz about the possibility of new Frou Frou material, but as of 2011 no official track or album has been dropped.
