Dos Minutos (or, 2 Minutos) is an Argentinian punk rock band from Buenos Aires. Though the five-piece formed in 1987, it didn't release Valentin Alsina, its debut album, until 1994. The years spent touring small clubs and developing a cult following paid off however, as it wasn't long after Valentin Alsina that Dos Minutos was transcending its punk rock roots and becoming one of Argentina's most popular rock bands. Inspired by American and British punk royalty such as The Ramones and The Sex Pistols, the group creates anthemic three-chord songs full of powerful drumming and impassioned vocals from lead singer Mosca Velasquez. In 1995, Dos Minutos became the first Argentinian band to tour the US, though the vast majority of its following is still very much central to its home country.
