Unlike most electronic music acts, Silverclub creates a quirky and smooth brand of electro-pop. The Manchester-based group is centered on the work of Duncan Edward Jones, formerly known as the techno/house artist DNCN, who works with bassist Chris McGrath, synthesizer and vocalist Henrietta Smith-Rolla, drummer Jim Noir and electronic man and percussionist G-Kut to produce a poppy, funky, post-punk blend of electronic music. Silverclubs debut EP Answers, released in 2010, prompted a review in XLR8R Magazine that heralded the group as one of the UK's most exciting up-and-coming acts. The title track on the group's sophomore effort, the No Application EP released in 2011, plays off of Jones' idea that no application, state of the art synthesizer or expensive drum machine can automatically create quality electronic music. Silverclub's soulful and no-hassle sound is a testament to that notion, that good music is created with good ideas, not fancy programs and overproduction.
