Formed in 1995 as Oobik & The Pucks by front man Romain Humeau, Eiffel is a four-piece rock band from France. After struggling for years promoting its sound at small Parisian venues and releasing singles to little acclaim, the band changed its name to Eiffel and released a full-length album Abricotine, in 2001. With surrealist lyrics and an acid rock sound, the album was commercially and critically acclaimed in France and was quickly followed by 2002's Le Quart d'heure des ahuris. Even more successful than its predecessor, the sophomore album catalyzed a 100-stop national tour. Eiffel has since released several more studio and live albums of psychedelic rock, building an international audience in the process.
