Detroit native Terrence Parker began his career in the early 80s as a DJ, remixing the music of the likes of Whodini. As his understanding of music evolved, he shifted to producing original music that featured elements of techno, downtempo, soul, jazz and even gospel. He performed under numerous aliases from 1988 through the mid-90s. Seven Grand Housing Authority, one of his most popular stage names, started gaining recognition in '95 because of the tracks "The Question" and "Love's Got Me High," prompting him to record the full-length album Tragedies of a Plastic Soul Junkie under his own name. The next year, Parker came back with his second solo album Detroit After Dark. Over the years, Parker has continued to release music that reaffirms his status as a house-music-legend.
