Wielding the prestigious title of Jazz's greatest improviser still in existence, Sonny Rollins has an enormous reputation to consistently live up to. With his flawless performances on tenor sax, however, Rollins never ceases to impress, making his audiences feel as though they're soaring to new heights. Rollins grew up in Harlem in the 30s and was performing with greats like Miles Davis and Bud Powell before the age of 20. Despite his age, Rollins still continues to perform and release new music, insisting that it's his obligation to continue spreading the jazz of an age long since passed, one that evokes all of that era's great musicians.
