Originating as a folk lore in the Middle Ages, William Tell is a story about overcoming personal and perceived limitations in order to accomplish means to an end. Probably best known for the cinematic climax, which features the eponymous character of the tale proving his worth and skill by shooting an apple off his son's head via a bow and arrow. Adapted into a four act French libretto opera by famed Italian playwright Gioachino Rossini that premiered in Paris in 1829, William Tell has managed to continuously impress audiences with its iconic story line and well regarded operatic composition.
