Black Pus is the one-man project of Providence, RI-based artist Brian Chippendale. Best known as the drummer and vocalist for the noise rock band Lightning Bolt, he first released his brand of loosely pop-structured, experimental rock under the moniker Black Pus in 2005 with his self-recorded CD, Black Puss I. Enamored with the process of recording as a solo artist, Chippendale released a string of records, began performing live under his new stage name and released Black Pus's debut album Primordial Pus, in 2011 with Load Records. For his follow up album, 2013's All My Relations, Black Pus fully integrated his pop sensibilities with his distinctive drumming and meditative looping of rhythms and phrases.
