North Carolina mini orchestra The Old Ceremony was formed in 2004 when Django Haskins, part of the rock band International Orange, wanted to do something with his music that he knew a standard rock band was incapable of doing. Haskins quit his band and formed together other instrumentalists that shared his vision, nabbing a residency at the West End Wine Bar, where the band was able to refine its americana-tinged, noir-pop sound. This residency eventually drew in crowds from across the state, as the band's reputation for its impressively polished live show, complete with polished shoes to go along with the band members' suits, spread. Since then, the band has released several albums and received moderate acclaim.
