Hailing from Virginia Beach, Pharrell Williams is a singer/songwriter, producer, rapper and musician who has found success on both the front and back ends of entertainment. After teaming up with Chad Hugo to form the production duo The Neptunes, which has mastered worldwide hits like Britney Spears' "I'm a Slave 4 U," he kicked off his own music career as the vocalist and drummer of the rock/hip-hop group N.E.R.D., in 2001. Widely known as Pharrell, he began his solo career with the release of his 2003 single, "Frontin," and quickly found a earnest following with his smooth R&B-infused sound. As he continued to garner critical acclaim as a producer, he went on to collaborate with legendary artist like Madonna and Daft Punk and even tried his hand at film scoring when he composed the soundtrack for the 2010 animated film, Despicable Me.
