Hollywood Ending is a pop rock quartet made up of US and UK natives who teamed up under the dream of becoming the next big pop group. Though some might perceive its mainstream aspirations as shallow, the band exudes a sharp self-awareness that shines through its sticky, hook-laden songs, particularly on the satirical "Boyband Song." Paying its dues on the road, Hollywood Ending followed the American boy band Big Time Rush on the group's 2012 US tour, panhandling outside each concert venue and self-promoting its debut EP, Always 18. In the hands of its target audience -- fanatic tweens and teens -- the record eventually became a commercial success, catapulting the group to pop star status. Hollywood Ending has since headlined several North American tours and expanded its following with subsequent records such as 2014's Anywhere.
