Today's social culture of digital interaction is changing the way people meet one another and treat one another. People can now find a significant other or a friend by using the internet to search for other folks with their shared interests. It comes as no surprise, then, musicians are starting to compose together without even meeting face to face. This is the case with Swedish electronic-rock band The Amphlifetes, at least. The group - comprised of respected electronic producers and rock singer/songwriters in their own right - released its eponymous debut album in 2010, without ever interacting with each other in person. All the music was composed by individuals working on pieces and sending them to other musicians in the group for feedback. Though this might seem like a rather contrived way to make music, The Amplifetes somehow manages to pull it off and create songs that are worthy of more than just a passing listen.
