Though never a household name outside of its native Scotland, Beggars Opera was a creative force in the union of classical and progressive rock music throughout the '70s. Effortlessly shifting from psychedelic passages to Bach or Beethoven licks, all while maintaining trippy, hypnotic grooves, the group's tunes are similar to the more well-known King Crimson and Yes. After nearly 30 years of little to no activity, Beggars Opera is now recording and performing live again.
