Stockholm trio Burek V, which takes its name from a Swedish baked cheese pie, hit its prime in the mid 2000s, fulfilling the role of buzz band amongst indie rock connoisseurs in Sweden, the UK and briefly in the US. Often compared to Wilco, a band that Burek V admits to being heavily indebted to, the group incorporates tinges of Americana into its music, while layering jangly guitars under frontman Mats Grönmark's brittle and plaintive vocals.
