American gothic rock band Christian Death is considered one of the founding fathers of the genre in the country. Formed in Orange County, CA in 1979, the band has seen multiple changes in its lineup over the years. However, one thing that has remained consistent over the years is the band's stand against conventions and its appetite for provocation. The prolific band has released numerous albums over the years, some which are Only Theatre of Pain, The Wind Kissed Pictures, Atrocities, Insanus, Ultio, Prodito, Misericordiaque and Invocations, to name a few. Over the course of its career, Christian Death has inspired many artists such Celtic Frost, Jonathan Davis, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson and more.
