A powerful mind is necessary to be an orchestral leader and arranger--the kind of mind which Danny Malando possesses. Malando, who was born in the Netherlands in 1967, weaves his big band through tangos that move his dancers across the stage. While the Dutch native is a master of beautiful Latin music, Malando can just as easily play a piece like "Moonriver" by Henry Mancini as he can a zydeco-inspired song.
