Castevet

Chicago band Castevet is a punk band in the emo/post-hardcore tradition. The band's music is significantly more melodious than many so-called emo bands. That said, the lead singer's voice is not as springy and pop-twinged as the band's music, only adding to the band's punk cred. At work in Castevet's music a longing gaze at the '90s, a period when emo was at its rawest and purist of forms. Now with emo's embrace by the pop punk market, Castevet is holding out for the good 'ol days, and with some considerable success. The band's debut record is titled Summer Fences.
