German indie singer/songwriter, Daniel Benjamin, has slowly but surely been gaining more prominent exposure with his music since he began his solo career in the early 2000s. Having originally entered music via a punk band he played with as a teen, Benjamin later turned to a folky, chamber pop sound that has garnered him comparisons to indie darlings like Sufjan Stevens and Elliott Smith. His songs are full of delicate arrangements with acoustic guitars, sparse drumming, keyboards and occasional accompaniment from violin or mandolin. Benjamin recorded and released his self-titled debut LP on his own in 2005.
