When Outkast broke in late-90s, the effects on the music community in its hometown of Atlanta were huge. An invigorated hip-hop scene, now on the national radar, began to produce countless rappers looking to get in on the action. Combining Southern rap styles, club beats and a boastful lyrical swagger full of jabs at his competitors, P. Dukes began his career around 2006 as a member of the Countree Noise collective. His overall sound is relatively straight-forward in its execution, never really straying too far out of the box. Yet, Southern rap fans will appreciate P. Dukes clever wordplay and his embodiment of Atlanta's flourishing rap scene in general.
