Sweatshop Union is an underground hip-hop collective from Vancouver, British Colombia that came about as a synthesis of four distinct politically-minded rap acts. Feeling that a collective voice resounds more than that of the individual, Sweatshop Union released their first eponymous album in 2001 to almost immediate success, effectively earning the collective a place as one of the Northwest's biggest hip-hop acts. Known for its members' ingenuity and particularly for their no-holds-barred honesty, Sweatshop Union has not only grown to become a hip-hop success story in its own right, but has managed to retain its integrity in the process.
