Tulsa is an indie pop band that is comprised of both Basque and Spanish members from the areas of Bilbao and Madrid. The members describe their band's namesake as being not only the world's capital of petroleum, but also the world capital of human indifference, and it is this sad combination of disillusionment and emotional emptiness that informs Tulsa's songs. To many listeners, such a combination wouldn't typically come to mind as a formula for good music, however, with the release of the band's 2007 debut album Solo me has rozado, many feel that Tulsa perfectly renders the musical language of the discouraged and the broken hearted into something that is as entertaining as it is beautiful.
