Debuting in 2010 with a well-received mixtape and an opening slot on tour with Lil Wayne, Skewby is an up-and-coming rapper in the Southern hip-hop scene. The Memphis, Tennessee native began rapping in his teens, inspired by modern rappers such as Kanye West and Lupe Fiasco--both of whom he's received comparisons to by fans and critics alike. An appearance at MTV's Spring Break and the release of his Proving You Wrong Since 1988 mixtape have helped spark his transition from underground fixture to the more mainstream stardom he's likely to soon find.
