Psychic TV (or PTV) is a New York-based avant-garde collective of musicians and visual artists that's spearheaded by the enigmatic Genesis P-Orridge. Rooted in punk, psychedelia, electronic and experimental rock, the group contains performance artists, video directors and underground musicians, all of whom collaborate on sometimes jarring, sometimes serene, but always interesting projects. The group was entered into the Guinness Book of World Records for the title of "Most Albums Released in a Year," when it put out 17 live albums in 1986. Psychic TV has gone through many changes and lineup additions over the years, most recently reuniting in 2003 under the new guise PTV3.
