His first solo album Bodyswerve entered the charts at no. 1 and Barnes has been topping the charts ever since. After a string of successful albums and singles, Barnes battled through drug and alcohol addiction in the early 2000s, finally becoming sober in 2002.
Jimmy Barnes released Double Happiness in 2005, which became his 15th number one album in total and his first in almost a decade. After open-heart surgery in 2007, Barnes released his 14th solo album, Out In The Blue, which sold platinum. Jimmy Barnes has become one of the most popular and best-selling Australian music artists of all time.
