Howard Bailey, Jr. is a hip-hop artist from St. Louis, MO who creates music under the moniker Chingy. After touring in support of Nelly in 2002, he was signed to the newly formed label Disturbing that Peace by Ludacris, who took Chingy under his wing as his protege. His debut album Jackpot, released in 2003, spawned his first string of hit singles including "Right Thurr," "One Call Away" and "Holidae In," featuring Snoop Dogg and Ludacris. The record established him as a rising star in the hip-hop community, leading to collaborations with some of the industry's most prominent artists, such as Lil Wayne, R. Kelly and Nate Dog. After releasing his fourth studio album, Hate It or Love It, in 2007, Chingy was left unhappy with the way Capitol Records marketed him and his album, and subsequently left the label and took a brief hiatus from recording. He returned in 2013 with his fifth LP, No Risk No Reward, on Epic Records.
