Intentionally choosing a "stupid band name," the Portland based indie electropop four piece received just as much attention for its far from FCC friendly name as it did for its catchy hooks. Despite its success on the indie charts and always packed shows, the band was hounded by record label heads to change its name. Finally giving in, the band asked fans to suggest names and eventually settled on the name Pyramiddd--this was short lived however, and the band went back to its roots and "stupid name" after a few months. Though it is now often billed as "Strfckr" on tour and in dubbed the same by the press to appease FCC guidelines, Starfucker is back and continues to play danceable hook-laden pop.
