Singer/songwriter Ryan Montbleau began playing the guitar at an early age, but it wasn't until he went away to college that he started focusing on writing songs. This led the young musician to take a job at Boston's House of Blues, where he eventually started playing his music. By the early 2000s, Montbleau was playing with a full five-piece backing band that aided him in fleshing out his rather diverse catalog of songs--everything from funk to reggae to Americana. While the group jumps around genres, it generally is considered to be on the fringe of the jam band market and has thus attracted the devoted following that usually comes with an association to the jam scene.
