This yearly event draws a worldly crowd. It is widely recognized as one of the country's most renowned Shakespearean festivals. Since 1958 a mix of top-notch local, international and celebrity performers have entertained audiences with the Bard's work. Many of the shows take place outside under the stars, at the University of Colorado's intimate Mary Rippon Outdoor Theatre where audiences of up to 900 sit on stadium seats atop rustic stone benches. The performances typically run from mid-June through mid-August. Advance ticket purchase is necessary, as many shows sell out. Performances also held at the University Theatre Main Stage. As there are various events, kindly check the website for more details.
