Emily Barker is an Australian born and UK-based singer/songwriter and guitarist who crafts folk music with subtle pop elements. After leaving her home in Bridgetown, West Australia, she relocated to the UK in 2002 and began collaborating with guitarist Rob Jackson. Together they released two albums under the name The Low Country, before Barker introduced her solo career with the debut album, Photos.Fires.Fables., in 2005. The record also catalyzed the formation of Barker's backup band, the Red Clay Halo, whom she continues to record and perform with.
