Zodiaque Dance Company is the dance company of the University of Buffalo that was founded in 1973 by dance teacher Linda Homeyer Swiniuch. Former student Thomas Ralabate is the Associate Professor of Theatre and Dance and the director of Zodiaque. Throughout his time at UB as a student, teacher and administrator, Ralabate witnessed the birth and growth of the company. Zodiaque Dance Company has over 350 dancers who perform in hundreds of venues every year. The company performs in a range of venues that includes art galleries, churches, theaters, performing arts centers and cathedrals. The company's success is in large part due to Swiniuch's dedication to education and dance, which has steadily attracted more interest in the school's fine arts program, ultimately allowing the Zodiaque Dance Company to be more selective.
