Every year from June to September the Confederation Centre of the Arts hosts the Charlottetown Festival, which puts on a series of musicals and comedies on several of its stages. The festival first began in 1965 and throughout the years, one production has remained a staple of its programming: Anne of Green Gables - The Musical. The quality of the Charlottetown Festival is such that Canada's finest theater professionals take part in it each year.
